I spent my early career with a chain pharmacy in NC working as a pharmacist, pharmacist store manager, then a district manager for 10 years. Chain drug taught me that there had to be a better way to serve our patients. I opened Medicap Pharmacy in 2001 to prove that I could do that. 22 years later we have a very successful operation, focused on the profit centers of compounding and nutritional supplements and wellness overall. The traditional pharma dispensing serves as a draw for the other 2 centers. I do not look at this as a profit center at all. The future of pharmacy for us all is willingness to change and reinvent ourselves and our businesses. Complacency will always be a slow path to disappointment.
